*********REVISED******
If you're looking for my main blog, please checkout http://www.crazybloggincanuck.com .I have news. Big news. No, I'm not pregnant so I guess it isn't that big (in which case, it is I who would be big). But I have a fun project underway that has the potential to become really cool.
You see, I figured I just wasn't busy enough juggling two small children and spending my days fantasizing about sleep and potties. I recently contacted Denver's two newspapers with a proposal: to run a "Mile High Mamas" blog. This would be a forum for Colorado mothers (and anyone else) to read humorous blogs (written by yours truly and others), share helpful parenting tips and provide an excellent resource for area activities.
At least that was the formal wording I used in the proposal. But y'all know what that means in Amber speak: TO PARRRRTY!
Miracle of miracles, both newspapers loved the idea. I have decided to go with The Denver Post because they have some fantastic plans in the works.Oh yeah, and because the other guy didn't call me back afterwards.
This is in the very preliminary development stages (they're still assigning the project to a designer) so will probably be at least a few months in the making, if not more.
And so I turn to you, my dear friends, for some advice: Does your area newspaper do anything similar? Do you know of any humorous bloggers in Colorado? What kind of things would you like to see to build an interactive network amongst mamas? What great mom sites (not necessarily blogs; more informational such as BabyZone) do you visit and why? Any standouts for design? And am I ever going to get eight hours of sleep again?....
Stay tuned for the official launch and make sure to leave a link to your site to build our Mile High Mama Linkage....

Hi there Amber! I used to be mile high girl! I graduated from high school in Colorado Springs. I love Colorado, but I'm stuck up here in Michigan.
Have a great day!
What's up with the blog party? Do you think it's winding down?
I met my hubby in Colorado, but we've since moved to New Hampshire. I far prefer the west!
I hopped over from Judy's blog. Have a great day!
Well, what a fun way to begin a blog! Have you ever "met" another Colorado blogger, Kristen at
http://kristenssocalledlife.blogspot.com/
I've emailed her to let her know of your upstart.
Good luck with this!
Here by way of the UBP: Have fun!

This should be fun! Sadly I'm not even close to Denver!
I'm actually almost a mile and a half Mama. Send some snow down south, k?
I, too, moved from Denver...three years ago. We miss being there! Wish I was still there so I could join this group. Sounds great!!!
I think that is is cool idea - how did you approach them?
Loving the idea... being a Mile High Mama and all! :)

that sounds fantastic! And it should be lots of fun. Rocky Mountain and the post are partners in a sense, so thats probably why you didn't hear back from RM, ( I thin k the Post is the dominant one)
I'm not a Mile High Momma, but Prince Charming is a HUGE Bronco's fan. Does that count?! ;-)
Sounds like fun! I wish you lots of luck!
This is a great idea! I wish I lived nearby. Keep us posted on how it all goes. I'd be interested in trying something similar out here in N.Y. Good luck!
I just had to add my comment because I laughed that everyone seemed to be saying that they used to live in Colorado. So I add my voice saying, yes, I used to live in Colorado Springs - loved it, but have since moved to the promised land. lol hehehe. Hope it goes well. Great idea.
Hi! I'm Heather and I'm a Colorado native. I just started a blog that feature the greatest Denver boutiques! I am adding a link onto my blog to your Mile High Mamas, if you'd like to link to my unique blog (which I know isn't about parenting, but I will feature boutiques for baby & kid stuff!) here it is: http://denverboutique.blogspot.com/
Cheers!
I have never lived in Colorado but long for it. Have fun w/this!
